Triangles Puzzle – Answer: ARCHITECTURE – By Eric LeVine

 

To solve this puzzle, players needed to cut around the outer edges of each grouped triangle and fold each shape to create a tetrahedron (a pyramid). Then players needed to align each smaller tetrahedron with the larger tetrahedron to spell out valid Braille 3-letter combinations for each of the four sides of the larger tetrahedron. Since there were valid Braille combinations that didn’t match the solution strings, the sigma values for each face of the tetrahedron provides a hint to the proper letters via the sum of the alphabetic ordinals. This puzzle isn’t not combinatorically overwhelming, as there are only 288 configurations and very few false positives. Below is a compressed version of the correct Braille. The correct answer is ARCHITECTURE.
